Bee Happy
CURATED BY KYUNGSHIL CHOI 24 April - 2 June 2026
Nick’s work is characterized by organic Nicholas brushwork.
The backgrounds of his paintings are often created by using playing cards to spread paint across the canvas quickly and freely. This process naturally brings out chance and spontaneity, forming dynamic movement and richly energetic textures on the surface. Each work centers on figurative imagery.
Dancing women, zebras, giraffes, and elephants frequently appear, and almost every painting includes a face and eyes. Through these eyes, he seeks to convey emotion, energy, and a quiet connection with the viewer.
A recurring element in his work is the asterisk/star. It is part of his signature and also a symbol that runs throughout his body of work. His paintings are filled with vibrant color and a bright, uplifting energy.
The title of this gallery show is “Bee Happy.” He hopes that through his work, viewers can approach each moment of life through the lens of happiness. Life is not composed of a single extraordinary moment, but rather of small, ordinary moments that quietly accumulate over time. And as these moments gather, they become our time, our memories, and sometimes something that feels like eternity.
